In order to support the products sold, Caltest have, for a number of years, operated a State of the Art Standards Laboratory now in Camberley, Surrey. The laboratory works to a degree of uncertainty capable of new instrument check out, and post repair calibration, of 8 digit Digital Multimeters, 0.01% Power and Energy Reference Standards and has the ability to perform high accuracy three phase and reactive power calibrations.
The laboratory's capability extends from microamps to 100A AC and DC for both generation and measurement. This is supported by a high accuracy DC and AC voltage capability from microvolts to 1000V, and Resistance from 0.001 ohm to 10Mohm. A currently reduced accuracy capability for measurement of AC and DC voltage to 10kV is maintained in order to support the Vitrek HiPot testers.
UKAS Accreditation for the Laboratory is currently being sought.
SERVICE:
The company offers a full, UK based, repair service for all the products supplied, and is, in fact, the official European Service Centre for Pacific AC Power Sources, Slaughter Test Systems Motor Testing equipment and Vitrek Safety Testers. Our aim, as in all aspects of our business, is to provide a manufacturer quality of service within the UK. This means that our customers do not experience the delays and communication difficulties that might arise from sending products back to, for instance, the USA for repair.
We do insist that each of the manufacturers for whom we are the sole UK and Ireland distributor, provides us with the necessary circuit information and technical support to enable us to fulfil our in country repair obligations.
Instruments are virtually never sent back to the US for repair. They are sent to EU manufacturers only when a product type is very new and either detailed service data has not yet been provided, or a quicker and more efficient repair will result from so doing in the early stages of a product's life cycle.
All the manufacturers represented offer at least a one year warranty and many (PPS, STS and H&H) offer a two year warranty, which is fully implemented and supported by Caltest.
We welcome repair and calibration enquiries from users of older equipment from the manufacturers represented (plus Rotek Instrument Corp. of the US). We currently economically maintain a large number of products introduced up to 25 years ago, which in some cases have been out of production for 10, or even 20 years!
