Renewable Energy Test Equipment
From Source to Socket
Test equipment for every stage of a renewable system's electrical path

Test equipment is only as useful as its last calibration. We calibrate power analysers, sources and safety testers in our own laboratory, rent grid emulators and DC sources for certification campaigns, and support you in choosing an appropriate test configuration for your products.
Equipment that exports power to the network, such as PV and battery inverters, storage conversion systems, wind converters and bidirectional EV chargers, is typically tested at several stages. R&D teams characterise efficiency, control behaviour and power quality. Production lines run end-of-line and safety checks. Before connection, the equipment needs evidence that it behaves as the network operator requires. That usually means a regenerative source that can stand in for the grid, a DC source that can stand in for the array or battery, and accurate measurement at the point of common coupling.
In Great Britain, generation connecting to distribution networks is covered by Engineering Recommendations G98 and G99 from the Energy Networks Association. Depending on the equipment and its type, the tests can include loss-of-mains protection, voltage and frequency protection, fault ride-through, frequency response, and harmonic and flicker emissions to the IEC 61000-3 series. For export markets, EN 50549-1 and EN 50549-2 apply in Europe, and IEEE 1547.1-2020 and UL 1741 SB in North America. Check the current edition of each document and your network operator's requirements before you fix a test plan.
Grid connections are a live issue in Great Britain. The National Audit Office reported in September 2026 that the share of projects offered a connection when they wanted one fell from around 64% in 2019-20 to around 16% in 2023-24, and the government has since announced plans for Great British Grid to speed connections up. If connection dates move forward, compliance testing can become the critical path. Tell us your equipment rating, target markets and timescale, and we'll support you in choosing an appropriate test set-up.
